I enjoyed meeting Ivan Král in Prague. I felt a connection with him because of his involvement in the 70's New York music scene with being the bassist in the Patti Smith band and also because of living in Prague. He emigrated to New York from Prague in 1968. He has been a major influence on music up to the present time. From Patti Smith and working with Iggy Pop, Debbie Harry and so many others. He did the soundtrack of some of my favorite New York underground films.
Ivan co-wrote with Patti Smith for her debut album, Horses, and remained with her for 4 albums, and over 15 tours. He writes, produces, performs and tours for the Czech Republic's top Acts. Ivan continues his role as film composer, producer and artist. He has won several Grammy awards. Ivan alternates between his homes in Europe and America, mostly composing at his home studio near Ann Arbor, Michigan.
