Taylor Mead is a writer and performer. He has been called the first underground movie star. He starred in most of the Warhol films and was one of strong personalities involved in Warhol’s factory scene. Taylor appeared in the final segment of Jarmusch’s 2003 film Coffee and Cigarettes. He has been “a beloved icon of the downtown New York art scene since the 60s.” Here he is in 2005 as the mascot of the Howl festival parade as it goes through the East Village.
